Robert Finkelman began his professional photographic career in New York City at the age of seventeen, shooting runway shows during the city’s annual Fashion Week. Showing strong early promise, he was able to secure work lensing fashion spreads for magazines such as DETAILS, DV8, PROJECT-X and PAPER, as well as print ads for many Manhattan clothing and jewelry boutiques.

Robert attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts film school, graduating with a BFA in Film &Television Production in 1992. The following year, Robert relocated to Los Angeles, where he continued his photographic pursuits and embarked on a successful career in documentary film production.

Today, Robert continues to enjoy dual vocations as a photographer and filmmaker. He has captured many thousands of headshots over the years, all exhibiting his inimitable dreamy, soft-focus signature style. Robert has also developed a keen interest in fine art and landscape photography, utilizing a variety of unusual techniques, equipment and film stocks to document his personal vision of California.
